b. Ralf Armand Beck, c.1972, Germany. Taucher is German for diver and this trance DJ-producer was given the name because, in the early 90s, he used to wear a wetsuit and diving equipment to German clubs such as Dorian Gray and The Omen. Together with his production partner, Torsten Stenzel they have achieved club hits with ‘Ayla’ as Ayla, ‘Did You Hear Me?’ as Red Light District and with a remix of Sosa’s ‘The Wave’, released on the EMI Records’ imprint, Additive, in the UK. Originally, they were signed by Sony Germany after scoring significant dancefloor hits with ‘Happiness’ on the Crash label and ‘Atlantis’ on Planet Love. The production duo was responsible for trance versions of Praga Khan and Culture Beat among other dance acts. In 1998, Taucher was signed by the UK’s Gatecrasher club in Sheffield to play at their events on a regular basis.
