Morten Hampenberg had his big breakthrough in Denmark back in 1999. His first single ”Grab That Thing” was #1 on all important charts and reached gold status in sales. 70.000 albums of his debut album was sold, and it gave him his first platinum record. After that Morten had an even bigger hit with the track ”Ducktoy”, which was a huge club smasher in almost every corner of the globe. In Spain the yellow duck went straight to #1 on the sales chart and it resulted in one of the wickedest live experiences for Morten in Barcelona, where almost 40.000 people had bought a yellow rubber duck for the occasion, and sqeezed it to the ”chorus” of the track.
Since that, Morten has released tracks on the finest houselabels abroad. Toolroom, Stereo Productions, TUSOM, Gossip, Brickhouse, Swing City and Ministry Of Sound, just to name a few. Although he’s a sucker for heavy underground tunes, he also has the skill of making hits. This makes him a very wanted producer and remixer in home country Denmark and internationally. He won the ”Remix Of The Year” award at the Danish Deejay Awards show in both 2008 and 2009. At the upcoming show this year, he’s nominated once again.
Morten has played everything from the darkest rooms in Spain to commercial venues in DK, which makes him very versatile and great at reading the crowd, giving the ultimate experience everytime.
Morten just signed his newest project ”Moám” to Ministry Of Sound UK and 12 other countries, with release this spring. First single is based on the classic ”Crocketts Theme” and the feedback is already amazing.
As we speak, Morten is #1 on the danish Dancechart with ”Skub Til Taget” (Push the roof). A track made with fellowproducer Alexander Brown and the very talented rapper Yepha. The track is already one of the biggest club-bangers Denmark has seen for a long time and now it seems to slowly take over national radio and television.
