Die Echten are a comedic a cappella singing group from Austria who perform in dialect and are popular in their homeland. Founded in 2000, the group is comprised of Stephan Gleixner, Alexander Wartha, Andy Woerz, and Patricia Simpson; former member Renate Reich split from the group in 2004. Die Echten made their major-label recording debut with Im Stimmbad on Sony BMG in 2004 (an accompanying DVD of the same title was released as well). The Amadeus Austrian Music Award-nominated album was a Top 20 hit on the Austrian albums chart and spawned a series of follow-ups: Im Radio (2005), X-Mäs-Späschl (2005), Gretes Hits (2006), and Die Echten Retten die Welt (2008).
