Asher D was born on 30 June 1982 in Peckham, South London, although he is often associated with Battersea, also in South London, due to his ties with the grime/garage collective So Solid Crew. He is also an actor, having attended the Sylvia Young school, he has starred in a few London based films including 'Sugarhouse' and 'Bullet Boy'.
Asher D (born 1983, real name Ashley Walters) is a British rapper and actor, who is known for his work within the group So Solid Crew. After the group split up, he went on to focus on other projects. in 2002 the rapper got an 18 month prison sentance for gun posession but got out after serving 9 months. He shares a name with another British rapper who released records on the Music of Life label in the late 1980s and early 1990s, often alongside Daddy Freddy. Asher D also acts, appearing in films such as Bullet Boy where he played the title role, and Get Rich or Die Tryin’ (2005 film) starring 50 Cent. Bullet Boy was completed in 2004 and released in 2005. He recently played the role as “Wolf” in a new teenage spy film: Stormbreaker (film), and “Danny” in the film Life and Lyrics. and it has been confirmed that he will star alongside the rest of the con artist team in the fourth series of BBC Drama Hustle, replacing Adrian Lester who plays Mickey Bricks.
