Trance DJ & producer from Germany. Born on 16 December 1971, he began his DJ career in 1991, playing at the Tresor and Turbine clubs in Berlin, Germany. His name is often capitalized with a lowercase v: "Paul van Dyk". He has won a string of awards, from 1998 until 2011 - he was nominated for/won over 65 titles for his work as a DJ and music producer, such as those from "DJ", "Ministry" (of Sound), "Mixmag", and "Muzik". Readers of Muzik voted his resident 6-hour sets at the Sheffield club "Gatecrasher" as the "second best club night ever". That same year at the Music Awards in London, he received the "Best International DJ Award". He moved up in DJ’s annual list of the "Top 100 DJ's Worldwide", where he was voted as number 1 DJ of the world in 2005. His singles "Another Way", "Tell Me Why (The Riddle)", and "We Are Alive" reached number 1 on the dance charts in several countries. He was married to Natascha van Dyk, who also appears on some of his releases, until 2012, when he filed for divorce and has since in relationship with his Colombian girlfriend, Margarita Morello.
