Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, born on January 29, 1993 in Tokyo, Japan, is a fashion model, blogger, and singer. She models for fashion magazines such as KERA and Zipper. Kyary is known to have a very funny and comedic personality, often sharing photos of herself making funny faces via her Twitter and blog.
Her debut mini-album Moshi Moshi Harajuku was released August 17, 2011 and produced by Nakata Yasutaka of Capsule. Prior to the mini-album, she released her lead single “PONPONPON” in July 2011 as a digital download worldwide via iTunes, as well as a cover of “Jelly.”
Kyary released two singles (her first two physical singles), CANDY CANDY and Tsukema Tsukeru, prior to the release of her debut full-length album, Pamyu Pamyu Revolution, which was released May 23, 2012. The limited edition version of the album comes with a 64-page photo-book taken in Los Angeles, as well as a bonus DVD with music videos and two live videos taken from the “Moshi Moshi Quattro” live, held on February 25, 2012 at Shibuya’s Club Quattro. The album debuted at #1 on the US iTunes Electronic chart, France iTunes Electronic chart, Belgium iTunes Electronic chart and the Japan Oricon daily chart.
